Singapore Fireworks Festival

I just returned from the Singapore Fireworks Festival. Everywhere was just filled with people, people and more people. I went to the festival with my family and we drove there. We got stuck in a traffic jam for almost 1 hour before finally parking in the carpark of one of the office buildings. It was all traffic and human JAM down there.

The bridge linking the City Hall MRT station exit to Suntec City was packed with soooo many people! I'd rather drive there than be stuck in the sardine-packed bridge. We took dinner at Lau Pat Sat and then watched the fireworks at an area near the Clifford Pier. I thought the fireworks would start at 8pm but it was actually 8:30pm, so we waited for 30 minutes...
The stretch of road infront of Fullerton Hotel was cramped with so many people too. The large number of people acted as a roadblock and cars and motorcycles had to squeeze their way through it. I was surprised that the traffic police didn't close that stretch of road.

We would have gotten a better atmosphere and view of the fireworks if we were at Marina Bay or near the Esplanade. Although the fireworks seemed far from us, it still wowed everyone. Hotel guests of Fullerton stood outside their rooms and watched the fireworks from the balcony.
All in all, it's pretty worth the 1 hour ride to get to see the 6 minutes long fireworks display. I've kinda got a fetish for fireworks, haha.

Anyway, the FA Community Shield match was boring. Man United's defense is still so sloppy. Silvestre the jinx even scored an own goal... Chelsea will definitely thrash Man Utd in their opening match on 15th August. Saha, RVN and Ronaldo are not available for that match; and Chelsea has got Robben, Mutu, Joe Cole and so many other quality players. It'll be a one-sided game I suppose.

It's now 4 minutes before midnight.
Signing off...
