Deyi ROCKED the NDP!

Fireworks display @ NDP

Happy 39th Birthday Singapore!
The Secondary 1 to 3 pupils have done Deyi proud! Their performance at the National Day celebrations was SUPERB! Marvin stood high up in the air carrying the flame-torch, doing himself, his family and school proud. I was surprised to see Eric on TV too, he had always told me he played a minor role in M&D, but still managed to get onto the mainstage to perform. I guess their months of hardwork and training has paid off well. They'll definitely have a huge party back in school.

I watched the fireworks display on TV and it sure looked more colourful and larger than the fireworks at the Singapore Fireworks Festival. Fireworks rocks!

Towards the end of the parade, there was a clip in tribute to PM Goh Chok Tong. He will be stepping down as Prime Minister on 12 August. He has gained the respect of all Singaporeans young and old. His foresight has guided Singapore into the 21st Century where Singapore needs to decide which path she has to take, being a developed nation and a nation with few resources.

Singapore Idol
Well, the Singapore Idol is not entirely a joke afterall. There were some really talented singers, and - as always - many self-proclaim talented ones.

The most crazy and fucked up contestant shown in the first episode of SI was the stripper. His singing was a total joke and his stripping actions will definitely add insult to his name and family.

There was also another contestant who imitated William Hung. This time it wasnt She Bangs. He sang Lemon Tree with awful dance moves. I can't imagine which idiot would que up for days and then give such a performance.

The last contestant was a middle-age male. His talking was louder than his singing. Nothing came out of his mouth when he sang, and the judges were laughing their heads off. You all should watch the repeat telecast of this episode of SI, if there will be one.

Banana Man will be featured in the next episode of Singapore Idol

Lastly, there were participants who could sing. I thought that the guy who sang Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me by Clay Aiken was good.
This is the end of my SI review...

On last note, we love you and good luck Mr Goh!
NDP 2004 rocks!
