First post in weeks
Woah, I've not had time to update my blog. I've been spending lots of time at work, shift is normally from 8a-4pm, and I'd be exhausted by the time I get home. I reach home at around 5pm, watch some TV, have dinner, play some games, and then go to sleep. But all these will end after I leave my job in mid-March in preparation for NS.
Anyway, Chinese New Year was great. On the first day, went to visit my babysitter. She took care of me when I was a baby till about 8 years old. We visit her every year, she is still so fit even at the age of almost 70. At night, we went to my 6th aunt's house for dinner. There was a large spread of food, including steamboat. Woah, it was great. We then played blackjack, at $1-$2 per bet, money flowed in and out very quickly.
On the second day, we went visiting again. This time was to my granduncle's place, then my relatives came over to my place, and then had dinner at my 1st aunt's place at night. This time there was Yu Sheng, the salmon and abalone really complemented the taste of the vegetables and sweet sauce.
On the third day, my friends and I visited to my friend Vivien at Boon Lay. The train journey one-way took me 45mins. That's how long it takes to travel from east-central to the west of Singapore. She invited many other friends over as well, the atmosphere was great. There was Scary Movie 3 played on TV, while everyone chit-chatted and had lots of fun.
I started work on the 4th day of CNY. Many of the staff were surprised as they thought I'd take the whole week's off. Two of my colleagues who are Chinese, took 12 days off! They went back to their hometown in Malaysia. Working in the hotel line is really stressful, especially the front line staff. The finance people get mandatory off days during weekends and public holidays, while the front line people get mandatory off of only 2 days a week.
This morning I played basketball at college with my friends. In the afternoon, I went to watch DreamGirls movie. In the evening, had dinner outside, followed by pool. I'm now typing this entry half-consciously.
