Busy, busy, busy

It has been all work and no play this few weeks. Next Wednesday is the GP prelim examinations, and it's only 69 days till the A levels. We're now doing all the various JC prelim papers we can possibly do during tutorial lessons and free time. I think I've done most work on Chemistry, the Chem dept drills everyone on the MCQ and Paper 2 questions. It has really helped me revise alot, and I suddenly feel I know alot more about Chemistry than ever before. I hope this will help me attain at least a grade B in the A levels.

As for the other subjects, I feel that I'm spending less time on Physics. Thus I'm not as proficient in doing the prelim paper questions as before.
I have now set my aim for the A levels - A for Phy, Maths and Econs, B for Chem and A2 for GP. I know it's possible as my friends and many other people have attained better results than this. I really need something to inspire me - probably it is the ambition to be a pilot in the future.

Singapore Fireworks Festival

I went, with my brother, to the fireworks display yesterday. The train towards City Hall was crowded, and CityLink was even more crowded. There were policemen controlling the crowd at the underground Esplanade linkway. When we walked to Esplanade park, there was more people! We inched our way through the crowd till we got a good spot with no trees blocking the view. We stood there for about an hour till it was 9pm. The first fireworks exploded in the air.

The fireworks display was not spectacular though, probably because it was Team Singapore's. :) I felt it wasn't worth all the squeezing and time-wasting.

NDP celebration

Today's NDP celebration @ NYJC was really fun and special. We sold flags to help the Geylang-Toa Payoh Medical Centre for the elderly. Our class went to the Boon Keng, Farrer Park and Little India area, all of which are along the MRT North-East Line.
We did not collect much donations though, as we spent more time travelling than asking for donations. Furthermore, the areas we went to were very quiet as it was around 9-10am when people were all at work.
Our class did win the 2nd prize for the most donations collected in that area and most number of quiz questions answered correctly. We won a $30 Swensen's voucher which we later spent, at Junction 8's Swensens, on ice cream and fries.
